Letter to the Editor
Is racism still necessary? Does it solve anything? I do not feel that that race seperates people in any rank or superiority. The fact that people believe race should be seperated and ranked because of colour of skin is depressing. It is not fair that people with a darker tone of skin should be used of slavery or deprived of any civil rights.
I think that racial discrimination should have been put behind us a long time ago, yet people still believe that according to what race you are a part of, defines your importance. People are people and different races do not deserve to be treated this way. They have done nothing to show unimportance and the only thing that is different from us and them is religion. It is unbarably horrible what certain people have gone through all this time.
Every race should be treated with the same race of any other. The people who discriminate or abuse any race have no point of doing so. It accomplishes nothing but pain, embarrasment and stupidity. The issues of the past should be forgotten by now. Just because black and caucasion people were seperated in the past, does not mean that the same injustice should be carried out today. Black race has faught very hard to get themselves out of the abuse and domination created and it is not fair that they should still have to fight these issues.
For all reasons stated, i feel that racism should be terminated. No one should have to deal with discrimination baced on which religion they belong to.
